Help ACES offer scholarships and present awards by giving to the ACES Education Fund.

DONATE TO THE ACES EDUCATION FUND

The ACES Education Fund awards six scholarships each year and two additional awards, the Richard S. Holden Diversity Fellowship and the Henry Furhmann Mentor Award. In addition to individual cash awards, the six scholarships also include financial aid to attend one of the two annual ACES conferences, in-person or virtual.

The Bill Walsh Scholarship
The Bill Walsh Scholarship is given in honor of the late editor, author, and ACES guiding spirit to a student who demonstrates excellence in the editing of news. The cash award is $3,500.

ACES Scholarships and Aubespin Scholar
ACES Scholarships are given to five students who excel in critical thinking about written materials in any field and aspire to a career involving editing. Four of the awards come with a $1,500 cash prize. One student is chosen to be the Aubespin Scholar, which comes with a $2,500 cash prize.

The Richard S. Holden Diversity Fellowship
The ACES Education Fund, in partnership with the Dow Jones News Fund, sponsors the Richard S. Holden Diversity Fellowship, given annually to promote diversity and inclusion by advancing early- and mid-career professionals in their work as editors and aspiring industry leaders. Each fellow receives up to $3,000 to apply to course tuition, conference fees, travel, or other costs related to their continuing career development and skill-building.

The Henry Fuhrmann Mentor Award
Los Angeles Times editor Henry Fuhrmann, a longtime leader and mentor in both ACES and Asian American Journalists Association-Los Angeles, gave generously of his time and expertise to help shape the careers of numerous journalists. To honor his memory, ACES and AAJA-LA present an annual award to a journalism mentor who has consistently guided and supported others. The award includes a $1,000 cash prize.

Your donation helps the ACES Education Fund to remain self-sustaining and continue to grow and reach even more editing students and professionals.
